A simple gesture can emanate from an inner energy that someone or something can interact and play with.

Franz Kline’s passionate and vigorous expression is mirrored yet  given a violent and raw energy by Aaron Siskind  who always seeks order on a flat plane.

An interplay of broad strokes hiding and revealing feelings of delight not knowing where it is coming form.

“A blank eye, the hard profile, in a time of violence”…. AaronSiskind. His  statement reflects his consciousness of evil and violence  as veiled in society’s secret rituals.

We can hide our true identity by wearing masks of different  personalities to suit the occasion or mood of the moment.

Window exit staircases dominate the facade of boarded windows in a surreal atmosphere of the picture frame.

The solitary figure seems to be framed ambiguously inside or outside of the  door outlined by the shadowed wall.  The striking composition of the image  reinforces the idea of isolation of the man standing whose gaze and thoughts are focused completely beyond the confines of his immediate environment.

I used similar pictorial techniques of Aaron Siskind to convey a lonely and alienating world as the young boy enters into the unknown future
